Science for Industry (S4i) is the leading international event accelerating technology transfer and innovation through Deep Science. Held annually in Madrid, it connects world-class research with the industry and capital needed to turn breakthroughs into market-ready solutions.
Bringing together universities, research centres, major industrial players, and top Science Equity funds from across the globe, S4i transforms cutting-edge science into real societal impact.
S4i strengthens the open innovation ecosystem by creating the environment where the future of industry becomes reality, boosting competitiveness through strategic connections and direct access to frontier Deep Science.
S4i is structured into three dedicated, high-impact areas to promote focused interaction:
Global Summit
The Global Summit is the core exhibition where the Deep Science ecosystem is presented to companies to incorporate knowledge into their products and processes. It works to improve company competitiveness, increase scientific impact, and strengthen innovation in Europe. It features a large stage for plenary sessions with top-level speakers, and the Innovation Journeys, guided tours for large companies to discover high-potential scientific prototypes.
Industry Corner
This area promotes direct, structured collaboration between the industrial sector and the scientific community. Industrial companies present their challenges, technological needs, and R&D requirements directly to researchers and knowledge-generating bodies. This space also facilitates 1:1 meetings where corporation leaders can connect directly with researchers and scientists whose projects or expertise align with their strategic interests.
Investors Club
This space connects cutting-edge Deep Science startups/spin-offs with the capital and strategic partners needed to scale. It hosts leading Science Equity funds, including venture capital, corporate venturing, and business angels. Here, through Speed Dating Sessions, and a Pitches agenda, Deep Science startups and spin-offs can present face-to-face their disruptive technologies to a curated selection of investors; while investors have the unique opportunity to efficiently identify and assess the potential of the best Deep Science startups and spin-offs.

The Vice-Rector for Transfer, Innovation and Culture of the UAM, Prof. Félix Zamora, has been the promoter and co-founder of S4i. The event was born out of his vision, recognising the need to bridge the gap between academia, industry, and investment, ensuring research translates into solutions for society.
