Pixel for DVS vision sensors with one or more photodiodes operating in photovoltaic mode

The invention describes a new DVS (Dynamic Vision Sensor) pixel architecture in which output pulses are generated when the pixel detects temporal variations in illumination. The pixel uses, as a photoreceptor, one or more photodiodes operating in the photovoltaic region. The anode of these photodiodes can be connected directly to a source follower or buffer. The voltage at the anode of the photodiodes depends logarithmically on the photodiode photocurrent, making the use of a logarithmic photoreceptor unnecessary, which reduces the pixel dimensions compared to existing architectures.
