Carlos III University of Madrid (UC3M) has developed an ergonomic device for the automatic extraction of skin samples that is equipped with a disposable circular blade with a helical movement. It is of great help in Dermatology and other specialties because it simplifies the necessary instruments to a single device, does not require highly specialized personnel, does not require anesthesia and drastically reduces the total time required from 20-30 minutes with current techniques to 4-5 minutes.
