A device for cellularized membrane cultivation is provided. The device comprises a culture vessel having one or more first sidewalls, a bottom surface, and a culture space being formed in an interior of the culture vessel. The culture space is configured to receive a membrane for cell and tissue growth on the bottom surface of the culture vessel. The device further comprises a cover configured to be coupled to the culture vessel. The cover comprises first cover connectors and the first sidewalls of the culture vessel comprise first vessel connectors that are adapted to mate with the first cover connectors such that, in use, the first cover connectors press the membrane against the bottom surface of the culture vessel to prevent the membrane from moving.

This device is used for culture cellularized membranes for their use in biomedical research or their use as Advanced Therapy Medicaments. It has as main advantages over the rest of its competitors that: - Provides simplicity and functionality. - Hermetic closure device: it is able to close tightly, providing a closed environment even with an overpressure, but with an easy access. - Allows immobilization of the membrane in an easy way: prevent the membrane from shrinking and thus the cells may properly adhere and grow. - The LUER-LOCK ports allow the liquid exchange: the cells and culture media could be inserted in a clean and safe manner. - Thanks to the filter a good gaseous exchange is obtained. - It can be used for sterile transportation of the cellularized membranes to the operation room. - The biocompatible material with which this prototype has been obtained is an elastic polymer, that allows to withstand high internal pressures which provides one of its main advantages; the hermetic closure. Moreover, the device is manufactured with a biocompatible, sterilizable polymeric material, which allows its use in pharmaceutical GMP conditions and the possibility of certification as a medical device.
