The present invention relates to a method for the recognition and automated census of reptiles through the transformation using hidden markov models of the fusion of the characteristics in different domains of their acoustic signal emissions allowing the identification of the species and the monitoring specific to individuals within the same species. This methodology uses a concatenation of temporal and spectral characteristics to be automatically recognized by means of an intelligent pattern recognition system.

Applications
