IN VITRO METHOD FOR THE DIAGNOSIS OR PROGNOSIS OF BREAST CANCER
EP4089415
The present invention refers to an in vitro method for the diagnosis and/or prognosis of breast cancer. The method of the invention is carried out by determining the concentration level of proteins in erythrocytes or red blood cells (RBCs) which are present in- or isolated from patient blood samples.
The present invention refers to an in vitro method (hereinafter method of the invention) for the diagnosis and/or prognosis of breast cancer in a patient which comprises: a) Measuring the concentration level of at least protein LAMP2 in RBCs comprised in blood samples isolated from the patient (i.e. RBCs present in- or obtained from an isolated patient blood sample); b) wherein if a deviation or variation in the concentration level is determined as compared with the concentration level determined in control subjects, this is indicative that the subject is suffering from breast cancer or that the subject has a bad prognosis, wherein bad prognosis means that the patient may suffer from MBC.
