Manufacturing process for zeolitized or geopolymerized material and material produced
P202330759
Manufacturing process for zeolitized or geopolymerized material from an aluminosilicate-rich clay precursor with a grain and/or aggregate size <2 mm, comprising the steps of shaping macroscopic pieces (>1 mm), performing hydrothermal treatment of the pieces in a basic medium, in a solution rich in soluble hydroxides, at a temperature up to 250°C, and washing the pieces. The precursor may contain porogenic materials, which create pores in the piece before hydrothermal treatment. The resulting material can be used in construction, agriculture, geotechnical engineering, and civil and environmental engineering.
These building materials are alternatives to traditional ceramics, fired at significantly lower temperatures, offering benefits such as reduced water absorption and improved mechanical strength. Furthermore, their potential decontamination capacity, due to their zeolite content, could be an added advantage not found in conventional building materials.
