The technology involves bonding metals and carbon fiber composites through a punching process in a single step with the uncured composite. Advantages: • simple and economical methodology, • Automotive lines use the punching process to perforate sheet metal, therefore implementation of this technology is feasible at level climbing • No weight is added to the structure (no fastening elements), on the contrary it reduces weight by removal of metallic material. • It does not generate delaminations in the composite material, since the union is generated in an uncured state. • No previous step of drilling and a subsequent step of joining is required, thus no need of alignment between hole and union equipment. The main target is the automotive market.
