METHOD FOR CANCELLING IMPULSE NOISE IN POWER LINE COMMUNICATION (PLC) SYSTEMS BY PROCESSING TRANSMISSION FREE CARRIERS
WO13087957
The invention relates to power line communication (PLC) systems, which tend to leave certain carriers or portions of the spectrum without power transmission in order to avoid possible interference with other wireless communication services, such as, for example, amateur radio operators. Said method for cancelling impulse noise for PLC systems consists of processing said free carriers in the receiver, in order to work out the amplitude and phase of the impulse noise pulses when they appear on the power lines and thus be able to cancel same.

This method finds application in the telecommunications sector, more specifically in the field of line-based signal transmission and reception systems. Among these, in those with digital modulation and transmission systems. In particular, those with multi-tone modulation such as Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM). <p> The main application is in power line communication systems, called Power Line Communications (PLC), which are regulated by international standards such as IEEE P1901 and other similar ones.
