Device and method for storing and dispensing a liquid sample

We provide a device for storing and dispensing a liquid sample. The device comprises a chamber in which the biological sample is storage, in addition is composed by two inlet conduits: 1) one of them configured to connect a filter, which allows gas exchange in the device, but maintaining the sterile conditions, and 2) the second inlet configured for introducing the liquid sample into the chamber. Both inlet conduits are closable, allowing the device to be hermetically sealed. One of the inlet conduits is long enough to be sealed in at least two locations in order to generate one pouch for storing a counter or pilot liquid sample. Finally, the outlet is configured to be connected to a needle, which allows the dispensing of the sample directly in the use site, for instance, in the surgery room to the patient. The device allows the generation of counter or pilot samples within the same device that is filled with the liquid to be stored. This pilot sample is generated attached to the device; thus, it is ensured that the sample and the liquid within the chamber are subjected to the same filling and storage conditions. Therefore, the pilot sample can be used as a control and testing sample during the storage and/or injection process without the need of manipulation of the liquid sample in the chamber. Furthermore, there is avoided having pilot samples delocalized in the storage medium, for example, in the freezer cabinet, making to the user easier the use of the correct counter sample in the control and testing process. In addition, as the storage and dispensation are done with the same device, the risk of contamination of the liquid sample is minimized and the loss of liquid sample is avoided, having a better use of the stored liquid sample. Regarding the liquid sample, the device is useful for any biological sample, preferably comprises serum, blood, cells, viruses, bacteria, cell cultures or suspension of cells. It can be also valuable for liquid samples as a vaccine or an immunotherapeutic composition.
