The present invention relates to an optical device for identifying tumour regions in different organs, such as the brain. The device (100) comprises: a plurality (11_i) of chips, each chip having a metallic nanostructured surface; means for receiving a tissue sample to be analysed and depositing it on one of the chips (11) when the chip is disposed in an illumination area; a light source (13) configured to provide a light beam to illuminate the chip (11) on which the sample has been deposited; and a spectrometer (15) for receiving a light beam reflected by the chip (11), configured to extract the spectral response of the light reflected by same. The spectral response depends on the refractive index of the tissue sample analysed, which, in turn, depends on whether the tissue is necrotic, tumoural or peritumoural.
