The object of the present invention is a material containing Ni nanoparticles supported on a solid with a high specific surface area, which is capable of promoting the hydrogenation of CO2 to methanol with high selectivity when illuminated with UV-Vis-NIR light at a power equal to or greater than one sun, under conditions of pressure above 10 bar and temperature above 100ºC.
