Compounds with a drimenyloxyarene structure and derivatives, and the use thereof to treat infections caused by phytopathogenic fungi, as fungistatic agents with a low ecological impact. The compounds can be used as plant-protection agents to control diseases caused by fungi from the genus Botrytis and other phytopathogenic fungi. The compounds claimed can also be used to inhibit fungal growth in various non-agricultural applications.
These compounds can be used to reduce fungal growth prophylactically, or to reduce the growth of a fungus already present in the area to be treated. Preferably, the compounds described are used to reduce or prevent the growth of plant pathogenic fungi; however, these compounds can be used to inhibit fungal growth in various non-agricultural applications (e.g., to reduce moisture damage on wood, paints, etc.).
