Device and procedure for hearing protection
ES2986239
This patent describes an integrated hardware and software system designed to enhance the safety and acoustic comfort of workers exposed to high-intensity sounds. The system consists of hearing protection helmets equipped with external microphones and internal speakers. The microphones capture the sound environment, filtering out unwanted noise and highlighting relevant sounds, such as acoustic warnings, voices directed at the user, and any sound important for safety. Using software and hardware specifically developed for this task, the relevant sounds are detected, isolated from other noise, and localized in the space around the user. They are then reproduced through the integrated headphones inside the hearing protection helmets, providing the sensation that they are coming from the same direction where they were originally produced. It is important to note that the hearing protection helmet virtually eliminates all external sound from reaching the user's ears, meaning the user only hears what is reproduced by the internal headphones. This approach provides very high hearing protection, achieved passively through the physical insulation of the helmet, which can be as extensive as necessary since relevant sounds are isolated and reproduced by the described system. Worker safety is therefore significantly improved compared to systems that rely solely on passive protection or active noise cancellation.
ADVANTAGES - Improved working safety due to a high performance Individual Protection Equipment (IPE) - Capable to distinguish different background noise levels. BUSINESS APPL. - Industrial sector to protect the staff with a high quality barrier noise API.
