PROCEDURE TO OBTAIN AN ANTIMICROBIAL COMPOSITE MATERIAL, MATERIAL THUS OBTAINED AND USE THEREOF
P202430227
Researchers from the Universitat Jaume I and the Universidade Federal de São Carlos have developed a procedure to obtain a semiconductor/metal/carbon composite that possesses excellent antimicrobial properties, stability and low cytotoxicity, so that it can be used as an antimicrobial additive or coating in a multitude of fields.
- Displayed excellent stability. - Low cytotoxicity. - It does not need to be photoactivated to exhibit its antimicrobial effect. - Enhances antimicrobial activity. - Versatile application as an antimicrobial agent on different surfaces and as an antimicrobial additive in various polymeric bases. - Besides, the procedure used for the preparation of the composite material is carried out at mild synthesis conditions (low temperatures and times) and during its performance no synthetic secondary residues are generated.
