METHOD, CONTROL DEVICE AND COMPUTER PROGRAM PRODUCT FOR THE CURING OF A COMPOSITE PART

The invention relates to a method for the curing of a composite part (14), with the composite being at least partially reinforced with conductive fibres, with at least some of the fibres being grouped in at least one bundle and with at least one bundle being connected to a power source (15). The method comprises: via a control device (11), obtaining a program of temperatures to be applied; via the control device and via a temperature detection device (12), obtaining a distribution of temperatures on the surface of the part, throughout the curing time; verifying the correlation between the distribution of temperatures on the surface of the part and the program of temperatures; according to the result, during the curing time and via the control device, controlling the power supplied by the power source to at least one bundle of fibres of the at least one bundle of fibres connected to the power source.

The technology enables optimal curing of high-performance composites. Its use produces a more homogeneous curing throughout the piece, also speading-up the process, with a significant energy and economic savings. Therefore, the technology is much more energy efficient and has aditional advantages such as a reduction in cycle times.
We are searching for industrial partners from the composite producers sector (aerospace, wind generators,...), in order to achieve an agreement for the licensing of the technology. The research group is willing to accompany the process by providing additional consultancy and advice.
