Researchers from the Universitat Jaume I and the Universitat Politècnica de València have developed a system for heating air by means of microwaves; more specifically it is a microwave system that heats an electromagnetic susceptor with excellent thermal properties for heat transfer, thus allowing the efficient heating of air to a temperature above 700ºC. The electrical energy used by the microwave generation system can be from renewable sources, which is an additional advantage over other types of systems.
