The electrochemical flowcell works continuously for electrochemical synthesis of hydrogen on the cathode, and oxygen on the anode, where on the anode side, oxygen can be replaced by producing high-added value chemicals, for example, Hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF) to 2,5-furandicarboxylic acid (FDCA), resulting lower price of hydrogen produced by electrosynthesis.

Firstly, the flowcell cell can be used to produce hydrogen, which can be used as a clean energy carrier, used as a fuel; secondly, 2,5-furandicarboxylic acid (FDCA) from the anode, can be used to produce environmentally friendly plastic, which can be easily degraded.
