A procedure for preparing foam-like electrodes for use in hydrogen production has been developed. The results obtained show that, for operating times of up to 200 hours, our electrodes offer better performance than the nickel foams used in commercial electrolyzers. An international patent application has been filed for this work. This project focuses on the development of applied technology through an approach that encompasses the entire value chain of the processes. We envision the use of abundant and inexpensive materials. The preparation processes are also simple and scalable. We have analyzed the performance of the electrodes under real-world operating conditions at the National Hydrogen Center facilities to certify the quality of our technology. In this way, we aim to optimize the performance of the materials we prepare for industrial-scale use.
