Unlike standard lenses, this smart lens performs real-time frequency demultiplexing, spatially separating incoming signals and directing them to distinct focal points based on their frequency. This dual-functionality eliminates the need for additional filtering hardware, offering a streamlined solution for next-generation telecommunications and sensing.

Next-Generation Telecommunications (6G & Beyond): The lens can be used in base stations to automatically separate different frequency bands (e.g., sub-6 GHz and mmWave) into different sensors without needing bulky electronic filters. This allows for faster data routing and more compact antenna designs.
