NEXUGV is a modular unmanned ground vehicle developed as a flexible experimental platform for research and technological validation. Its design is based on a distributed electronic and control architecture, where autonomous functional modules communicate through segmented CAN networks, enabling scalability, robustness and rapid system reconfiguration.

The platform integrates a distributed power system with independent energy buses and a custom-developed electric steering solution using closed-loop control, providing a low-cost and reliable alternative to conventional commercial systems. A web-based remote control interface allows real-time operation and monitoring, supporting future integration into collaborative and multi-vehicle environments.

Applications

NEXUGV is designed for industrial and academic research, serving as a testbed for distributed control architectures, CAN-based communication systems, energy management strategies and alternative steering and propulsion solutions. Its modular structure allows fast adaptation to different configurations, payloads and experimental objectives.

Within the context of Industry 5.0, the platform supports experimentation in human–machine interaction, remote supervision and cooperative robotic systems. It also provides a robust foundation for the incremental integration of perception, trajectory planning and autonomous navigation technologies.
