SISTAM is an innovative deep-inspection system designed to detect and characterize internal pathologies in bridges and viaducts. By using neutrons and sensing with advanced modelling and data analysis, it enables non-destructive assessment at previously unreachable depths. The result is a more accurate understanding of structural health, improving safety and optimizing maintenance strategies.

Applications

SISTAM enables deep, non-destructive inspection of bridges and viaducts, to quantify hidden corrosion for other tecniques that are critical to prevent any collapse. This system provides structural health information that cannot be obtained with conventional surface techniques. In practice, it supports infrastructure owners in prioritizing maintenance, reducing inspection costs, preventing failures, and extending the service life of critical assets.
