The present invention relates to a method for the production 5 of therapeutic extracellular vesicles (EVs) from Mesenchymal Stem Cells by applying a direct pulsed electrical stimulation to said Mesenchymal Stem Cells. Furthermore, the present invention also discloses the EVs, the composition or the kit comprising them, and their use in regenerative therapy and the delivery of drugs.

The mtehod surprisingly boosts the production of therapeutic Extracellular Vesicles (EVs) (4 to 5 folds production increase) and which surprisingly results in EVs which show improved regenerative properties in comparison with EVs from non-stimulated MSCs 30 or stimulated under different electrical stimulation conditions. This is a genetics-free, biochemical-free and scalable method that makes it advantageous among current established strategies. Furthermore, it is to mention that the electrical stimulation conditions of the method of the present invention do not produce electroporation.
