Use of acylated aminoacids as nutraceutical approach to prevent mild cognitive impairment
WO/2025/219147
Role of nutraceuticals, specifically N-oleoyl-leucine (OLE), not only in the prevention but also in the reversal of cognitive decline. OLE is a well-tolerated amino acid naturally present in selected foods. The ultimate goal is to translate these findings into a marketable nutritional product.
AAME has a natural origin, is concentrated in selected foods and its administration does not cause changes in the behavior, weight, or appearance of treated subjects. OLE’s value proposal is superior to other nutraceuticals-nootropics due to: - oral administration and easy intestine absortion - It crosses the blood-brain barrier (BBB) - It instructs the immune system (microglia) to encapsulate and eliminate toxic protein aggregates - Promotes neuroprotection against oxidative stress - Improves the cognitive abilities of administrated subjects In summary, unlike the active ingredients present in other commercial nutritional supplements, OLE has the ability to modify the course of cognitive decline and Alzheimer's disease.
