The present invention relates to a novel process for the synthesis of 1- (2,6-difluorophenyl) methyl-1H-1,2,3-triazole-4-carboxamide, active principle of rufinamide drug. Said process can be performed by steps or sequentially in a single reaction step, without the need to isolate the intermediates. The process is characterized by the use of mechanochemistry as a source of energy in the synthetic process and alkaline nitrides as a source of ammonia for obtaining the final amide. The process described is fast, respectful of the environment and profitable from the economic point of view.
