The present invention describes a glass that has the following composition (percentages are expressed in percent by weight in relation to the total weight of the composition): 60 - 80 percent SiO2; 10 - 20 percent Na2O; 5 - 15 percent CaO; 0.01 percent Al2O3; 0.01 - 1 percent SO3; 0.01 - 5 percent MgO; 0.01 - 5 percent Bi2O3 and/or CeO2 and 0.01 - 6 percent of one or several selected additives of the group formed by Eu2O3, Pr6O11, Yb2O3, Er2O3 and AI2O3:Cr2O3. The present invention also describes a method for obtaining same from raw material or recycled glass and the application thereof in photovoltaic panels.
