La invención facilita la captura de la luz generada por el proceso de soldadura orbital permitiendo su monitorización mediante sistemas sensores basados en el análisis de la radiación luminosa generada por el plasma. Consiste en un tramo de fibra óptica desnuda (4) enrollada sobre la cara interna de la cazoleta (3) de protección que incorpora la pistola de soldadura.
