HYBRID MATERIAL FOR DETECTING ACID AND BASE VAPORS
ES2957536
The present invention describes a hybrid material for detecting acid and base vapors, comprising a metal-organic framework and at least one dye encapsulated in the pores of said metal-organic framework that exhibits proton transfer processes. The present invention also relates to the method of manufacturing said material and its use for detecting acid and base vapors.
The materials developed through this concept (proton transfer molecules encapsulated in MOFs) can be used in the development of vapor sensors for toxic compounds such as acids (HCl or others) or bases (triethylamine or others), used in a multitude of industrial processes. Furthermore, it is anticipated that this concept can be extended to the detection of any analyte (substance to be detected) that can donate or accept a hydrogen atom to the molecule encapsulated in the MOF.
