PROCEDURE FOR OBTAINING METABOLITES OF VITAMIN D3
ES2554649
Vitamin d3, its metabolites and analogues have an important biological activity that has motivated the development of a large number of synthetic routes. In addition to calcitriol (1 a, 25- (oh)2 -vitamin d3), 24r, 25- (oh)2 -vitamin d3 is an active metabolite of vitamin d3 but whose biological activity is not fully known. Given its limited availability and its high price it is necessary to develop more efficient methodologies of this metabolite of vitamin d3. The present invention describes a method of obtaining metabolites of vitamin d3 hydroxylated at the c-24 position which applies the asymmetric dihydroxylation reaction of sharpless to generate the side chain and which it uses as the starting compound the diol of inhoffen-lythgoe easily available from commercial vitamin d2.

The present invention is a new process for the synthesis of Vitamin D3 analogues with applications in the pharmaceutical and in the food industries.
