Flexible measurement system: network of devices for inpatient bed interface pressure measurement in hospital and home environments
✓ Patent granted in Colombia: NC2020/0001343
✓ International application number: PCT/IB2020/061611

The flexible pressure measurement system is a non-invasive device used to measure and monitor body contact pressure distribution, tilt angles and interface pressure exposure times by region, improving the quality of life of patients in recovery scenarios involving long periods of rest. It makes it easier for caregivers to know how and when to make adjustments to patients' body position to prevent the occurrence of pressure injuries. It does not require healthcare providers to undertake complex adaptation processes through the acquisition of new and expensive technology for monitoring hospitalized patients.

Applications ✓ Monitoring of pressure injuries of patients in Intensive Care Units and hospitalization, avoiding the appearance of ulcers and associated complications and reducing the length of hospital stay. ✓ Use in home hospitalization, improving patient care and quality of life for patients and their caregivers. Advantages-Benefits ✓ Reduces the possibility of occurrence or aggravation of pressure injuries in bedridden patients and collateral consequences. ✓ Generates alerts based on the information detected by the sensor, classified into two categories: preventive and urgent. ✓ Can be easily adapted to patient beds in hospitals, home care and elder care facilities. ✓ Body contact pressure distribution measurement.
