The present invention relates to a breast phantom, comprising: a first hydrogel that forms a simulated breast tissue phantom and a second hydrogel that forms a simulated breast cancer tissue phantom, wherein the first hydrogel comprises a cross-linked 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate and the second hydrogel comprises cross-linked methacrylate hyaluronic acid. The present invention also relates to the method of preparation of said phantom and to its use
The main technical advantage of the presented invention, which makes it completely novel and unique with respect to the aforementioned products, consists of an artificial system, representative of the anatomy and properties of common breast tissues, which can be used by researchers and manufacturers of microwave imaging devices to improve their medical imaging methods, and by health professionals to learn microwave breast imaging procedures.
