Htf degrading bacteria. The present invention relates to the bacterium Pseudomonas oleovorans hbd2 deposited in the Spanish Type Cultures Collection with access number 8969, and to the use thereof for the degradation of the HTF heat carrier fluid, either in liquid media or in soils contaminated with HTF or its chemical components.

Algunas centrales termosolares utilizan el fluido calorportador Dowtherm A (HTF) para transferir el calor desde las parábolas hasta las turbinas que generan la electricidad. Este fluido está compuesto por una mezcla eutéctica de bifenilo (26,5%) y óxido de bifenilo (73,5%) y es un líquido altamente tóxico. El microorganismo de la invención degrada los dos componentes del HTF de tal forma que proporciona un método de biorremediación de suelos contaminados con HTF.
