The inventors have found a method for early diagnosing pancreatic cancer based on a faecal microbiota signature with high specificity for pancreatic cancer. The method of the invention is a sensitive, specific and non-invasive method for an early detection of pancreatic cancer, in particular Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma (PDAC) that could therefore improve survival outcomes. The present invention refers to a method for diagnosing pancreatic cancer in a subject comprising determining the abundance of several Microbiome species in a faecal sample from said subject, as well as to a kit and its use for the diagnosis of pancreatic cancer.
