COMPOSITION FOR ATTRACTING INSECTS OF THE GENUS GONIPTERUS AND METHOD OF USE

The present invention described herein is intended to be applied the protection of plantations, or trees, belonging to the genera Eucalyptus, Corymbia, or to other genera of the family Myrtaceae, against the eucalyptus weevil Gonipterus spp.(Coleoptera, Curculionidae), a pest that wreaks havoc important economic factors to these cultures in several continents. It consists of applying a set of biotechnical methods , based on the use of non-toxic substances that act on behavior and/or physiology and/or ecology of weevils and their parasitoids and/or predators.
