La importancia del conocimiento en tiempo real de los parámetros modales de una estructura ya sea en su fase constructiva como en fase de explotación da un importante y fundamental valor añadido a la calidad global de construcción de la estructura, así como su estado real durante su vida útil, adquiriendo este aspecto más interés y relevancia si se puede realizar exclusivamente a partir de observación de posicionamientos con sistemas de posicionamiento global como pueda ser GPS.
