Quantitative method for the detection of yessotoxins in fishery products based on the activation that the toxin produces in phosphodiesterases. The cellular target of yessotoxin (YTX) and analogs (YTXs) is the activation of phosphodiesterases (PDEs). PDEs-YTX binding gives a measurable signal. Binding can be quantified by an affinity biosensor or by fluorescence. The biosensor detects biomolecular interactions and allows the presence of YTX to be determined by its interaction with PDEs. The variations in the rate of degradation of the fluorescent derivative antraniloyl-AMPc are determined by plaque fluorescence. The speed with which PDEs degrade this molecule increases in the presence of YTX.
