The invention relates to a metal profile for construction and building, in a shape similar to an X, which is formed by joining, along a longitudinal axis, two identical steel sheets that act as a semi-profile, wherein each of the semi-profiles is symmetrical with respect the transverse axis. The profile is characterised in that each semi-profile comprises five correlative segments: a first segment (1) where both profiles are joined; extensions (2) of the first segment, an upper extension and a lower extension, which are both sloped at an angle (3) with respect to the transverse axis of symmetry, the extensions remaining symmetrical in relation to same; and end sections (4) corresponding to the extensions (2) and which resume a path parallel to the segment (1).
