THERMOPLASTIC MATERIAL BASED ON ABS FOR 3D PRINTING BY FUSED DEPOSITION OF FILAMENTS AND PELLETS
ES2786098
Preparation of feedstock materials for polymer-based additive manufacturing whose 3D printing using filament or molten pellets is carried out without the need to heat the 3D printing platform. With this procedure, a thermoplastic polymeric filament or pellet with better mechanical is obtained properties with respect to the starting material without additives. This new material has direct application in industrial additive manufacturing processes via fused material deposition modeling, including large-format additive manufacturing.

The patented materials have the advantage that it can be printed in fused material deposition modeling without the need to increase the temperature of the platform above room temperature. In this way, operation times during the printing process are reduced while energy costs are eliminated. This advantage is applicable to both conventional and large format 3D printers, with volumes of more than 1 m3, the latter being of great industrial interest.
