In recent years, market trends have focused on the search for alternative sources of power generation. Among the most prominent is photovoltaic power generation, whose global market has recently registered the highest growth rates. Currently, the development of thin film solar cells for the creation of flexible panels has been achieved, expanding the panorama of solar energy use under alternative application scenarios and the integration of such energy to many portable devices. The CIDEMAT research group of the University of Antioquia, in alliance with Sumicol, Andercol and EPM, developed a flexible, nanostructured, lightweight photovoltaic solution with the technical capacity to be coupled to other elements, with the objective of providing integrated solutions, customized designs and energy autonomy for low consumption devices.

Applications ✓ Low energy consumption integrated solutions for sensing variables in different sectors. ✓ Energy harvesting in indoor or low irradiance conditions. Advantages-Benefits ✓ Flexible solar cell with novel architecture. ✓ Capacity for technological integration into various applications. ✓ Possibility of being manufactured by printing processes.
Available for commercial exploitation through:
✓ Licensing.
✓ Assignment of rights.
✓ Technology cooperation for scaling up.
