TELEMATICS SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SAFETY IN THE CIRCULATION OF VEHICLES

This invention consists of a telematics system to improve road safety for two-wheeled vehicles. The new development consists of a device that prevents possible collisions between conventional vehicles and two-wheeled vehicles, mainly bicycles and mopeds, traveling on the same road. In the field of two-wheeled vehicles there is a lack of communication solutions, both with other vehicles and with road infrastructures. For this reason, the objective set by the UMU research team was precisely to achieve this connectivity by developing a device that allows two-wheeled vehicles to communicate both with the Internet and with the rest of the elements on the roads. The device's interface, which can be placed on the handlebar of a bike or motorcycle, flashes a warning light and emits a loud sound when there is a car approaching from behind, something that will help take preventive measures to avoid a collision.
