COMPOUNDS FOR THE TRATMENT OF MALARIA

Bis(aminostyrylpyridinium) compounds of formula (I) and pharmaceutical acceptable salts thereof are provided for use as a medicament. Additionally, multiple novel bis(aminostyrylpyridinium) compounds of formula (I) are provided. The present invention relates to compounds of formula (I) and compositions for use in the treatment of a disease whose etiology is based on protein aggregation. Particularly, compounds are useful in the treatment, prevention or amelioration of malaria, or symptoms, complications and/or sequelae thereof.
