InVial

InVial is a new microextraction device consisting on a glass vial whose inner walls are coated with an extractant phase of the metal-organic framework (MOF) type. This extractant phase can adsorb the target analytes easily by putting a liquid sample in the vial, and then an automated analysis can be performed by placing the vial in an autosampler of a chromatographic system.

Invial seeks to solve the complexity of chemical analyses. Every time an attempt is made to develop an analysis method, whether for agro-food samples, environmental or biological analysis, there is a high complexity behind it that makes the methods difficult and very unsustainable. The device developed at Invial is unique because it simplifies the sample treatment procedure in laboratories. The use of these vials greatly simplifies the analysis procedure since one simply has to add the sample to the vial and shake it. This process manages to 'trap' the compounds that are to be analyzed.
