Optical Camera Communication

An optical wireless communication architecture that uses commercial cameras as optical signal receivers. Although the data rate is low to medium, this technology offers several advantages, such as the high sensitivity of the links, which enables the use of very small, low-power emitters, and the ability to detect multiple emitters simultaneously within the camera's field of view. Furthermore, these links are implemented using conventional cameras, such as those in smartphones, tablets, or laptops, enabling these devices to gain new communication capabilities without any hardware modifications.

Applications such as IoT, underwater communications, and vehicle communications, among others, can benefit from the unique characteristics of these systems.
