Early detection of breast cancer is a major issue worldwide. Electrical impedance tomography (EIT) is a non-invasive technique in which the electrical conductivity of the interior of the breast or other parts of the body is inferred from surface electrode measurements and used to form a tomographic image.

We have developed a new EIT-based technology with the potential to detect breast cancer at an early stage, enabling more effective treatment and better outcomes for patients, as it is able to detect variability in conductivity on the order of millimeters in size within a body. Our device incorporates stable algorithms that avoid the instability associated with algorithms used to date. This increased accuracy of our technology in detecting early-stage cancer will allow healthcare professionals to initiate treatment earlier, potentially saving countless lives and reducing the need for current invasive procedures.
