WHEEL SLIP RESET CONTROLLER FOR BRAKING SYSTEMS
WO15101679
The invention relates to a slip reset controller for vehicle braking systems, which controller provides a signal (u) that is transmitted via the communication network to a local actuator that provides a signal (u), on the basis of a signal generated by a supervisor module and a signal generated by a slip estimation module, and wherein a slip estimation module generates a signal based on a signal provided by a sensory information module and a signal generated by a speed estimation module, on the basis of sensory measurements provided by a sensory information module. The invention also relates to a method for designing a slip reset controller for vehicle braking systems.

• The proposed proposal achieves, simultaneously and as far as possible, improvements in both braking speed and robustness against unforeseen conditions.
• The invention provides a resettable wheel slip controller that allows an improvement in the performance of the system:
a smaller and less oscillating transient,
robustness against time delays in the control action, against changes in road conditions, against uncertainties and against changes in the set point, even at values close to the maximum friction.
This improvement translates mainly into a reduction of the braking distance, and a more accurate estimation of the tyre-to-road friction coefficient.
• Improved simplicity and versatility, as the invention provides a method for the design of a resettable wheel slip controller and an estimator of the maximum friction that characterises each type or condition of road surface.
