Water-processing electrochemical reactor
WO2021/160831A1
The invention relates to a water-processing electrochemical reactor. The invention relates also to a process for the treatment of water in a water-processing electrochemical reactor. More precisely, the present invention describes a water-processing apparatus conveniently shaped/devised to promote a set of electrochemical advanced oxidation processes (EAOPs) based on in-situ H2O2 electrogeneration and, preferably, to be applied to the treatment of water and wastewater containing organic (or microbiological) contaminants by electro-Fenton (EF), photoelectro-Fenton (PEF) and solar photoelectro-Fenton (SPEF) processes.

Operation in continuous mode. Capacity to (re)generate Fenton’s reagents (Fe2+ and H2O2). Good current and potential distribution. Reduced electric cost Stricter discharge limits on specific organic pollutants that are not removed by conventional wastewater treatment plants Avoids health and safety issues for H2O2 storage
Industrial partners are sought to further develop the technology through a license agreement
