COMPOSITE MATERIAL BASED ON THE DISPERSION OF PAEK’S IN ASA AND DERIVATIVES.
PCT/ES2022/070282
Composite materials based on the dispersion of PAEK’s, PEI among other intrinsically flame retardant polymers within ASA and derivatives. Those composites consist of the addition of the earlier in ASA as a dispersing matrix by means of heat shear mixing. The composites may be subsequently processed through conventional polymer processes, as well as through additive manufacturing using extrusion material techniques. Processing of the aforesaid materials is simple, economic and scalable, allows to obtain functional parts or coatings with improved mechanical and flameproof performance, and it is intended for fabrication at small and large-scale.

The described composites might have a high industrial interest since feasibility of synthesis and process, particularly through large scale additive manufacturing, have been proven experimentally. Also the improvement in functional properties have been demonstrated and published in scientific journals. The invention provides materials directly usable as structural parts or coatings once processed by means of conventional of additive manufacturing techniques. Commercialisation of end-products would be another economic activity potentially attractive arisen as a consequence of the invention.
