PENTACYCLIC DIAMIDES WITH OPTOELECTRONIC APPLICATIONS, METHODS TO PRODUCE THEM AND USES THEREOF

The present application discloses the novel pentacyclic diamides of formula (I) and their analogues of formula (II), their use as potential applications in optoelectronic devices. Both pentacyclic amide families of formula (I) and formula (II) are obtained via novel synthetic methods described herein.
The present application relates to compounds of formula ( I ) and ( II ), methods to produce the compounds and their use as components for optoelectronic devices. The novel compounds of formula ( I ) are obtained from simple o-haloaryl amide acetals via a reaction sequence that involves treatment with iodine in acetone at reflux followed by further steps in the presence of a palladium catalyst, as seen in the example for the synthesis of compounds ( 1 ) - ( 3 ) given in Scheme 1. The novel synthesis of ( I ) from ( III ) is achieved using an appropriate transition metal catalyst, preferable with Pd, however others like Rh, Ir or Cu could be used.
