SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR GENERATING MONODISPERSE MICROBUBBLES IN A CO-FLOW CONFIGURATION
P201630521
The invention relates to a system and method for generating monodisperse microbubbles in a co-flow configuration, in which the system comprises: a co-flow device comprising an inner fluid channel, and at least one outer fluid channel, in which the outer fluid channel has a co-flow configuration in respect of the inner fluid channel, and said outer fluid channel substantially surrounds the inner fluid channel; and a force means connected to the inner fluid channel or to the outer fluid channel of the co-flow device, said force means being configured to produce a periodic variation, around the mean, in the flow rate of fluid flowing through either the inner or outer channel.

Versatility to adapt to different production environments, simple and economical construction, greater production capacity, easy handling and effective control of both the frequency of generation and the size of the bubbles, as well as improving the efficiency of the production processes, making considerable savings in energy consumption possible. Applicable in various fields such as biomedicine, for the development of diagnostic techniques, application of active ingredients, etc., food manufacturing, as well as in water purification and other applications derived from its use in gas-liquid reactors and foam generation processes.
