Reduce PSD retrieval error over currently used methods Particle size is a key factor that affects the quality, safety and final performance of many products. PSD is relevant to various sectors such as pharmacology, materials science or environmental control. It plays a fundamental role in solid dosage formulations in medicines to provide optimal absorption into the bloodstream, as well as in the chemical industry and air quality to monitor the presence and distribution of polluting particles that may harm human health. The present invention relates to a procedure for the estimation of the size distribution of multitude of particles from the coherent detection of forward scattered light (FSL) in aggregates, aerosols, emulsions, powders and suspensions that present an error of up to 30% less than in commercial methods.
